Terms of Service
Last updated 4 November 2026
These terms cover use of Stitch Pattern Studio. Payments are sold by Creem as merchant of record.
The service
These terms are between you and Luyu Fang, an individual in China, for use of Stitch Pattern Studio at https://crossstitchgen.com. The site turns a photo into a counted cross-stitch chart in your browser and can export a preview image or, with Pro, a PDF.
When you pay, Creem is the merchant of record. Creem is the seller on that transaction, charges your payment method, and handles tax on the sale. Creem’s buyer terms at https://www.creem.io/buyer-terms also apply to the purchase. These terms cover the software and the license we grant. They do not replace Creem’s terms for the payment itself.
Free and Pro
Free use includes the in-browser preview, color editing, and a low-resolution PNG with a watermark. That PNG is for personal planning. It is not licensed for resale.
Pro is $5 per month or $29 per year. Pro includes a print-ready PDF on US Letter or A4, with a cover, a floss list and skein estimates, a color chart, and a black-and-white symbol chart, without the free-preview watermark. Pro also includes this commercial-use permission: you may stitch the chart, sell finished pieces, and sell the pattern you generated, including on Etsy, as your own work. Stitch Pattern Studio is not affiliated with DMC or Etsy. This permission is a product license, not legal advice.
After Creem completes the payment, you receive a license key. Enter it in the studio on this site to unlock Pro in that browser. The key is checked with Creem. Keep the key; we do not operate a separate account you can log into.
Your photos and your patterns
You keep the rights to photos you use. You are responsible for having the right to turn a photo into a pattern, especially if you did not take it. Do not upload or convert material that infringes someone else’s rights. Because processing stays in the browser, we do not review your photos.
The sample charts on the site are illustrations generated by the tool, not customer work. DMC color names and numbers are used to identify floss. Color values shipped with the site are from makebead/craft-color-codes under CC BY 4.0. We are not affiliated with DMC.
Acceptable use
Use the site for counted cross-stitch patterns from photos you are allowed to use. Do not use it to break the law, to interfere with the site, or to probe or misuse the license check. Do not present the free watermarked preview as a pattern for sale.
Cancellation
You can cancel a Pro subscription at any time. After you pay, Creem emails a link to the customer portal. You can also open https://www.creem.io/my-orders/login and sign in with the email you used at checkout. Cancelling there stops future charges. Creem’s portal cancels the subscription when you confirm it, and Pro features that depend on an active license stop when that license is no longer active. Cancelling does not delete a PDF you already downloaded.
We do not store a separate cancel button in the studio, because the subscription is held by Creem as merchant of record. If the portal link fails, email [email protected] and we will help you reach it.
Refunds
Refunds for payments taken by Creem are processed by Creem. We decide whether a payment is eligible and then ask Creem to refund it. Email [email protected] with the email you used at checkout and, if you have it, the order details from your receipt. We aim to answer within 3 business days.
If Pro does not work as described on this site, for example a valid key will not unlock the PDF export, email us within 14 days of the charge and we will request a refund of that charge through Creem.
Creem’s checkout for digital content asks buyers to agree that delivery can start immediately. Where that agreement applies, Creem’s buyer terms say the statutory 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to that digital product. Read that notice at checkout. It is Creem’s term for the sale, and we do not offer a conflicting withdrawal promise.
If you cannot resolve a problem with us, you can contact Creem through the customer portal or the contact options on creem.io. Creem’s customer guidance is to contact the seller first, and to contact Creem if the seller does not resolve a long-standing issue.
The tool can be wrong
Color matching, finished size, and skein counts are estimates to help you stitch. Skein counts assume a standard DMC skein used as 2 strands and about 1,800 crosses per skein on 14-count fabric, scaled with the fabric count and rounded up. Check the chart before you buy a lot of floss or promise a deadline. The software is provided as available, without a promise that every photo will become a flattering chart.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Luyu Fang is not liable for lost profits, lost thread, or indirect damages arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including rights you have against Creem as the seller of the payment.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. If you have a current subscription, a change that reduces what Pro includes will not apply to the period you have already paid for.
